What is it all about?

The Illinois Trucking Association Board of Directors overwhelmingly supported the establishment of the Illinois Trucking Leadership Program in 2015. The objective of the program is to help the next generation of leaders become prepared not only to serve their companies, but also to serve the industry and their association.

Through this program, class participants are given opportunities to learn, grow, and further develop both the personal and professional attributes that will give them the confidence to be an even strong er leader in all aspects of their life.

This program offers a variety of sessions which include a focus on government relations, advocacy, public speaking, strategic thinking and other topics that are essential to continued growth and development as a leader. In addition, the program understands that as adult learners, hands on experience es and networking are of equal importance so there is plenty of that as well in all the Leadership classes.

Participants will leave not only with added confidence and pride in their respective roles in trucking, but also with new contacts, new knowledge and friendships that will continue to enhance their ability to truly make a difference in all aspects of their life.

Goals & Objectives of the ITLP

Provide leadership training to current and future trucking industry leaders
Provide the opportunity for trucking leaders from across the state to come together
Get more trucking industry leaders involved with the ITA, with their elected officials, and with state and federal regulatory agencies
Develop a generation of leaders in the ITA and in the trucking industry overall
To foster a leadership culture at the Illinois Trucking Association
